Black Friday, But Make it April!

If you’ve been around here for a while, you might know that I’ve never done a Black Friday sale before.

Not because I didn’t want to… but because, honestly, it just doesn’t work for a small handmade business like mine.

November is already the busiest time of year in the Red Door Maps studio. Every order is being made, pressed, packed, and shipped as quickly as possible. It’s full-on production mode, and there simply isn’t the capacity to layer a big promotion on top of that.

So instead of forcing something that doesn’t fit… I decided to try something different.

Black Friday… but in April

This time of year looks very different.

Things are a little quieter. There’s a bit more breathing room. And for the first time, it actually feels possible to offer a meaningful promotion - without compromising the quality or care that goes into each piece.

So, I’m flipping the script.

Black Friday is happening all April long at Red Door Maps.

What’s Included in the Sale

For the entire month of April:

• 30% off ready-to-ship map clothing
• 10% off made-to-order map gifts

The ready-to-ship pieces are already made and ready to go - which means they ship quickly and skip the usual production time.

And if you have a specific town in mind that you don’t see in the ready-to-ship collection, you can still order it made just for you (and enjoy a little discount while you’re at it).

Where Did the Ready-to-Ship Pieces Come From?

One of the things about running a business like this is that I’m always preparing for market season.

That means creating samples, display pieces, and a wide mix of locations, sizes, and styles to have on hand. I go into each market as prepared as I can… but I can never quite predict what people will be looking for - or which combinations of sizes and colours will be needed.

So once the busy season wraps up, there’s often a collection of pieces still here in the studio.

Not leftovers. Not mistakes. Just part of the process.

And now, they’re ready to head out into the world.
